Rescue Mission Food Drive Announced

Bethesda Mission in Harrisburg and Water Street Mission in Lancaster are partnering again this year for their annual Rescue Mission Food Drive from October 30 through December 22.  Last year, over 275,000 meals were provided to hungry families at your local rescue missions, but that is just the beginning.  Each meal is an opportunity to inspire hope and fuel long-term recovery in each individual served.  This year, our goal is 120,000 pounds of food!  Here are two simple and important opportunities for you to help:

First, collect food!  Fill a bag with non-perishable food items (no glass containers please), and then drop it off at any of the following locations:  Your local rescue mission, any Turkey Hill Minit Market, M&T Bank or Sharp Shopper in Lancaster, Dauphin, or Cumberland Counties, or at any Dauphin County Library branch.  Your donation will go to the Mission that serves your county.

A second opportunity is to send a financial gift to your local rescue mission, enabling the purchase of fresh produce, meats, and dairy:

Bethesda Mission – 611 Reily Street, P.O. Box 3041 Harrisburg, PA  17105
717-257-4442 or info@bethesdamission.org   Donate online at BethesdaMission.org/Donate

Water Street Mission – 210 S. Prince Street, PO Box 7267, Lancaster PA 17604
717-393-7709 or contact@wsm.org    Donate online at wsm.org/donate

Consider joining the effort with your business, church, or community group!  Contact the Mission for supplies and for help in organizing your drive. Visit RescueMissionFoodDrive.org for more information.

A special thank you to this year’s sponsors:  Turkey Hill Dairy, Turkey Hill Minit Markets, M&T Bank, Sharp Shopper, Giant Food Stores, Inc, and Capital BlueCross.
