Men’s Shelter Head Cook & Food Services Manager 

Bethesda Mission is seeking male individual committed to serving the poor and homeless. Men’s Shelter Head Cook/Manager of Food Services: This manager will lead and assist the Kitchen Staff in the planning, preparation and service of daily meals to guests and staff. Delegate food preparation tasks appropriately to Kitchen Support Staff team. Lead and assist the Kitchen Staff in maintaining a clean and safe food service environment. Guides and inspires the Kitchen Support Staff as to the focus and goals of the Mission and its programs.
Position require three years of experience involving institutional food service operations. (Note: Fast Food is not considered as qualifying.) Requires thorough knowledge of food preparation methods and terminology and knowledge of techniques of cooking essentials and safe food
handling practices. Generally, weekday schedule; occasional weekends and holidays.

Incumbent is responsible for pick-up and delivery driver needs, assists with functions of the Mission’s warehouse facilities, including intake, storage and dispositions of all materials, accurate inventory control, and supports the volunteers who may be working at the warehouse. The position consists of 24 hours per week, with the exception of a period of 40 hours per week, starting on or about November 15th and running four (4) to six (6) weeks dependent on work volume.

Maintenance Assistant 

Bethesda Mission is seeking a volunteer to provide support to our Handyman Contractor, Darvin Martin. Expected commitment could range from 10-20 hours volunteer support per month. Should part-time employment be of interest for this position, expected commitment could range from 15-20 hours per week. Volunteer transportation mileage will be provided if requested. Responsibilities include mowing, landscaping, repairs, and snow removal. Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of and demonstrate ability to repair electrical and plumbing systems.

House Supervisor – Women’s Shelter (Full-time)

Seeking female to support women in a recovery/addiction program and to maintain security of Women’s Shelter facility.  Requires good driving record with valid license; computer skills; preferably 2 years’ experience leading women with case management and recovery experience.  Requires Christian character.  40 hours per week: 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and every other weekend and other occasional hours as needed.

Donor Services Assistant – Administration (Part-time)

Incumbent is responsible for the processing of monetary gifts, in-kind gifts, and processing of
thank-you letters. Incoming monetary donations will include all on-line gifts, credit card gifts, and cash
gifts. Assists in maintaining the accuracy of Raiser’s Edge database. This includes, but is not
limited to, donor names and biographical data (addresses, birth dates, etc.), gift information,
donor notes, event information, etc.

Dental Hygienist (Part-time)

Licensed hygienist to assess oral hygiene care needs and treatment plans, to include cleaning teeth, identifying oral diseases, providing preventive dental care and educating patients on good oral health in a service-based, state-of-the art facility during Wednesday, Thursday and Friday clinics. 16-32 hours per week. Requires Christian testimony.
